Privacy Policy

1. The short version

PDF Merge does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal information or file content. Every PDF you open in the app is processed entirely on your iPhone. We do not run analytics, we do not require an account, and we do not integrate advertising or tracking SDKs.

You can verify this yourself by putting your iPhone in Airplane Mode. Every feature of PDF Merge continues to work with no network access.

2. What data we collect

None.

PDF Merge (the “App”) does not collect any personal data, usage data, or diagnostic data. Specifically, we do not collect:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, or account credentials — the App has no account system.
  • Your device identifier, IDFA, or advertising ID.
  • Your location.
  • Usage analytics such as which features you tap or how long you spend in the App.
  • Crash reports or diagnostic logs.
  • Cookies or web tracking data of any kind.

This is reflected in our App Store Privacy Nutrition Label, which lists “Data Not Collected” across all categories.

3. Your PDFs and pages

Every PDF you import into the App is processed locally on your device using Apple’s PDFKit framework. The App does not upload, mirror, sync, cache to a server, or otherwise transmit your file contents to us or to any third party.

Where your files live

Imported PDFs are copied into the App’s sandboxed storage on your device so they remain available while you edit and merge. Merged output files are saved wherever you choose to save them (Files, iCloud Drive, a share sheet destination, and so on). These files remain on your device and any storage services you have chosen to use through Apple’s own share sheet.

The Recents library

To make previous merges quick to reopen, the App keeps a local list of files you have merged. This list is stored in the App’s sandboxed storage on your device. It is never transmitted off your device. You can clear it at any time from within the App.

Deleting your data

Deleting the App from your iPhone deletes all locally stored files and the Recents list along with it. There is no server-side data to request the deletion of because no server-side data exists.

4. Purchases and subscriptions

PDF Merge offers optional in-app purchases (a weekly subscription, an annual subscription, and a one-time lifetime unlock). All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment details.

We use RevenueCat, an industry-standard subscription management service, to verify your purchase status locally on your device. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous, randomly generated identifier associated with your device so it can confirm whether you have an active Pro entitlement. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, contact information, or file contents. Their privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Apple’s handling of your App Store purchase is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.

5. Third-party services

The App does not integrate any advertising networks, analytics SDKs, crash reporting SDKs, marketing automation platforms, or social media tracking pixels.

The only third-party service is RevenueCat, described above, used solely to determine your Pro subscription status.

When you use Apple’s share sheet from inside the App to send a merged PDF to another app (for example WhatsApp, Mail, or Google Drive), the receiving app’s own privacy policy will govern how that app handles the file you sent it. PDF Merge has no visibility into or control over these transfers.

6. Children’s privacy

PDF Merge is rated 4+ in the App Store and is suitable for users of any age. Because we do not collect any personal data at all, we do not knowingly or unknowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and no COPPA-covered data collection occurs.

7. International users, GDPR, and CCPA

PDF Merge is developed and operated from Morocco. Because we do not collect, process, or store any personal data on a server, there is no international transfer of your data, no data controller processing to describe, and no data subject requests we could fulfill even if you exercised them — there is nothing on our side to access, correct, port, or delete.

Users in the European Union, the United Kingdom, and California nonetheless retain their statutory rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA respectively. These rights are effectively met by the fact that no personal data is collected. If you believe otherwise, you are welcome to contact us and we will investigate.

8. Changes to this policy

If we ever change how PDF Merge handles your data — for example, if we introduce optional analytics that require your explicit opt-in — we will update this Policy and note the change in the App’s release notes. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

Because we do not have your email address, we cannot notify you directly. Please refer to this page for the current version.

9. Contact

Questions about this policy, about how the App handles files, or about anything else related to privacy? Send us a message and we’ll answer every one personally.
